FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY BE ORGANISED?

Decluttering and sorting out cupboards and shelves also has an impact on your household and business budget. Research has shown that you'll save up to 20% by avoiding last minute shopping and not buying duplicates of items that are already in the cupboard.

It’s a very liberating feeling to get rid of the stuff that we never use. In fact, it is estimated that getting rid of clutter can reduce housework by up to 40%.

A clutterfree work environment ensures your business realises the benefits of employees not wasting time looking for things, wasting money reordering what is already at the back of a cupboard and wasting energy in a chaotic office.

And if you're selling your home, a lack of clutter has a great impact on the first impression of possible buyers. This can not only speed up the sale of your house but generate a higher price.

HOW DO I GET ORGANISED?

At Sorted we analyse your lifestyle or business in order to understand what's causing the clutter to build up.

We then find a solution that accommodates your personality and situation. We'll develop systems that are logical and efficient so that you are able to maintain them long term.

Remember that organising is a skill - a simple skill that anyone can learn - and remaining organised is sustainable if your systems suit the way you think and live.

WILL I HAVE TO GET RID OF EVERYTHING AND LIVE A MINIMALIST LIFESTYLE?

Being organised is not only for people who subscribe to the minimalist lifestyle – it is about finding a way to cater to the abundance in one’s life without it taking over one’s space.

An uncluttered environment improves the energy flow and relaxes the mind.

WHAT ARE OUR FIVE S’s OF ORGANISING?

We work using an easy system – Sorted’s five S’s of organisation.

SORT Step 1 -

The main questions we ask in the sort stage are – do I NEED this and have I used it RECENTLY.  This where the 20/80 rule applies - we only use 20% of our stuff. The other 80% is ‘should’, ‘could’ or ‘would’ use.

SHED Step 2 -

At this stage we decide what is to be given away, what is to be sold and what is to be thrown out.

SELECT Step 3 -

Once we’ve pinpointed the possessions you will be keeping we select the appropriate place for every single item, grouping similar items together.

STORE Step 4 -

We then choose the correct storage solution for our grouped items.

SYSTEMS Step 5 –

Having been through the whole process with us you will now be able to keep everything in order by using your organisational systems daily.

I FEEL EMBARRASSED ABOUT EXPOSING MY PRIVATE ITEMS - HOW DO I OVERCOME THIS?

I realise that I may come across personal items in the process and assure you of my strict confidentiality code and utmost discretion.

I am not there to judge but to find solutions.
